“Let me be surrounded by luxury. I can do without the necessities!” (Oscar Wilde). Is it a luxury to compile a small, beautiful book full of colorful photos just to have created a small, beautiful book full of colorful photos?
Luxury is extravagant and opulent. Luxury implies wastefulness and splendor. Luxury can be decadent. Luxury is exclusive. Luxury is something most people want but few can achieve. Luxury is wanting what you don’t really need. Luxury eliminates the need to be frugal. Luxury is the opposite of abstinence. Luxury is what you don’t have and can’t afford. Luxury means power. Luxury is represented by status symbols. My house. My car. My yacht. My horse. Sleep. Time. Health. Luxury is relative.
The 13th edition of the BFF Junior Book and the accompanying exhibition focusing on the theme of luxury are now ready. The participating young BFF photo designers ventured beyond traditional visual language and professional storyboards and took the time to capture their own photo ideas and individual stories in the shape of photographs. What a luxury!
An exhibition by the Association of Freelance Photo Designers (BFF), printed by Fotolabor M, Stuttgart.
